Supervised or adapted apartments

I live on the 3rd floor and I find it more and more difficult to go out, to maintain activities, I have been advised an apartment with supervision, what is it?

The framed apartment is adapted to people who are frail, have reduced mobility or are disabled. It has no architectural barriers limiting access or movement. It is equipped with facilities that promote the well-being and safety of tenants. The apartments with supervision are located in a building or part of a building that includes, in principle, common spaces or rooms for meals or activities.

The supervision includes a set of services, defined in advance and provided on a regular basis. It is integrated into the lease and guaranteed by the operator. It includes, for example

  • transitional assistance provided before the move-in and in the days that follow for administrative or organizational aspects
  • regular presence in the building, organization of group social activities and security visits
  • the provision of technical security means, including at least a 24-hour alarm system
  • providing a link to external resources in case of difficulties (home help and care services, meal delivery, transportation, etc.).

What is the difference between an apartment for seniors and an apartment with labelled supervision?

There are apartments for the elderly throughout the canton, some of which offer care services without meeting the criteria for apartments with care. They are generally adapted for people with reduced mobility.
